CHANGES IN CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING: THE SCIENCE MAKES SENSE is an edited video version of the June 29, 2005 satellite broadcast of the same name. This learning activity provides the scientific background on HPV and the development of cervical cancer required to ‘make sense’ of the professional guidelines regarding cervical cancer screening and the management of abnormal cytology results. The ASCCP Interim Guidelines discussed on this disc have been replaced by the 2006 Consensus Guidelines for the Management of Women with Cervical Cytological Abnormalities. It serves as a great introduction to the subsequent program Cervical Cancer Screening 2008, which discusses the 2006 Guidelines.
This self-study learning activity is provided on a single DVD containing a 2-hour long chaptered video presentation and printable program handouts. (A limited number of videocassettes are also available.) It is appropriate for individual or group use, to update experienced clinicians as well as to orient new staff. Continuing education credit is available in the form of nursing contact hours.
FEATURED SPEAKER: Alan Waxman, MD, MPH Dr. Waxman is a Professor in the Department of OB/GYN at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque.
